We are delighted to formally announce the recent appointment of Richard Walker as Director of our London office. Richard brings to OOBE a great deal of experience in large-scale masterplanning, residential schemes and urban design working on projects in China, Russia and Montenegro, including premiership football stadia in the UK. He has worked in a range of practices from a small design led practice to international multi disciplinary planning consultancies. Richard studied landscape architecture at the University of Central England and Urban Design at the Bartlett School of Architecture, part of UCL.

Two of our existing Newcastle team, Sophie Tombleson and Kirstin Burnet have been enticed south by the draw of the big city and are now working in our London office. They were recently joined by Paul Bourel, a fellow class mate from their University days, Paul completed his MA in Landscape Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art before working in an architectural practice. He then went back into academia to study Urban Design at the University of Westminster.

Richard and the OOBE London team are based in our new office located in North London, a short walk from Angel tube station. We’ve now had a presence in London for a year so Richard recently led the birthday celebrations by treating the staff to an afternoon of inspiration – visiting a selection of recently completed landscape schemes in the heart of London including the King’s Cross pond. It was too cold to entice them in for a dip though!
