American Curriculum School

Client: Aedas

Location: Dubai, UAE

OOBE worked with Aedas to develop the landscape masterplan for a new build American Curriculum School for 2800 students from Pre-Kindergarten through to IB Diploma. The concept for the external layout draws inspiration from traditional Islamic patterns and ancient gardens. Water is used in a variety of ways to delight and emphasise the arrival. A simple yet elegant rill allows water to flow across coloured tiles, drawing people through the approach sequence and into the building where it gathers in a pool with raised edges providing informal seating.
