Client: University of Reading
Location: Reading, Berkshire
OOBE, working with Ryder Architecture, are working on proposals for phase 1 of the new site for the development of the Phase II of the University of Reading’s Science Park adjacent to the M4 motorway to the South of Reading. The gateway building comprises offices and fitted laboratories and will be positioned as a centre of innovation for the Thames Valley enterprise economy.
An ecologically rich environment for all users to enjoy
Currently arable farmland close to a village, the landscape proposals need to work hard to ensure the built form sits comfortably within this setting whilst responding to the site users requirements. Plazas, courtyards and gardens create a variety of spaces within the vicinity of the building for the human users whilst mature trees, new areas of native woodland and planting beyond minimise the visual impact of the development and provide a variety of habitats for the flora and fauna!
