Usue joined OOBE in 2014, having worked in both small and large practices since graduating from Newcastle University. Usue combines her time at OOBE with a creative practice PhD at Newcastle University. She’s passionate about urban life and how spaces are shaped by people’s daily activities. Her research explores ways of bringing nature into the city with a focus on how people experience landscapes and the effect that experience has on people’s health and well-being, and hopes to test her findings on projects OOBE are involved with.
Usue is always on the lookout for new ideas to stimulate her imagination and likes to keep up to date with what’s happening in landscape architecture around the world. At OOBE she’ll be responsible for carrying out design reviews and driving our creativity forward.
Usue enjoys escaping to her native Spain with her young family whenever she can and is a fan of all things Scandinavian, from music to crime novels. She enjoys trips to the tyneside cinema and hopes that her kids will come to enjoy cinema as much as she does!
