Greg Meikle joins OOBE
November 11th 2025
OOBE is continuing to strengthen its presence across Scotland with the opening of a new Glasgow studio at Tontine, 20 Trongate. Heading up its Glasgow operations, Regional Director Greg Meikle has been appointed to lead its expansion across Scotland.
This expansion represents a key milestone in OOBE’s national five-year growth strategy to double in size. Originating from its founding studio in Newcastle and a successful base in Edinburgh, the practice continues to extend its reach across Scotland and the wider UK.
The new Glasgow studio, alongside a recently opened Birmingham studio, positions OOBE to meet increasing demand for design excellence across urban, residential and education projects.
OOBE is already involved in several key landscape and public realm projects in and around Glasgow. Recent completions include the BTR development at Holland Park, alongside the Barclays Campus at Tradeston. The team is also leading the regeneration of Yorkhill Quay – a major mixed-use riverside scheme the studio has guided from concept through to planning in principle.
The portfolio continues to grow, with new residential and education projects across Scotland that integrate landscape, ecology and community. The new Glasgow studio will strengthen OOBE’s connections throughout the country, enabling the practice to continue delivering landscape-led, sustainable places that prioritise long-term social and environmental value.
Drawing on over 15 years in landscape architecture, Greg brings a strong commitment to creating landscapes that connect people, place and nature. From large-scale regeneration to blue-green infrastructure to public greenspace, his work has contributed to reshaping public realm and reimagining urban environments not just in Scotland but across the UK.
Greg Meikle, Regional Director at OOBE, said: “For me, landscape architecture is about connecting people and place through nature, creating environments that feel authentic and enduring. OOBE’s ethos of designing with, not just for, people and the environment really aligns with my own values of collaboration and thinking. Glasgow is at an exciting point in its evolution, with new investment redefining how people experience the city. To help grow a team here that can contribute meaningfully to that transformation is a fantastic opportunity.”

“Scotland has been a key part of OOBE’s growth story for several years, and our new Glasgow base represents the next stage in that journey. Scotland has huge potential for design that prioritises people, biodiversity and resilience – values that sit at the heart of our practice.
Greg’s appointment brings deep local experience, creative leadership and a shared passion for making places that endure. Together with our Edinburgh, Birmingham and Newcastle studios, this move strengthens our ability to deliver high-quality, sustainable design across the UK.”
