OOBE at Education Estates

OOBE is excited to announce our attendance at this year's Education Estates® conference, taking place on October 14-15, 2025, at Manchester Central. This premier event is a key gathering for professionals involved in the funding, design, build, and management of educational infrastructure, from schools and colleges to universities.

We are looking forward to connecting with fellow leaders and innovators in the sector, sharing our passion for creating inspiring and sustainable learning environments.

Our Director, Emma McNicholas, will be at the conference to discuss how OOBE's landscape architecture expertise can transform educational spaces. Here's what she has to say about the event:

"I’m incredibly excited to be attending Education Estates this year. It's a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with peers and discuss the future of the learning. At OOBE, we believe that outdoor spaces are an integral part of a holistic learning environment. We are dedicated to designing landscapes that not only support academic excellence but also promote well-being, sustainability, and a connection to nature. I look forward to showcasing our work and exploring new partnerships that can help us build even better, greener spaces for students across the country."

Our Projects: Creating Greener, Healthier Learning Environments

At OOBE, we are proud to be working on a diverse range of education projects across the UK. Our recent work focuses on creating climate-ready, biodiverse, and accessible campus designs that benefit both students and the wider community. We've recently completed a redevelopment at Woodham Academy in County Durham, a DfE project that transformed the school's grounds into a sustainable outdoor environment. This project, which includes a new playing field, a biodiverse green roof, and improved circulation routes, is a great example of how our design principles support climate resilience and student well-being.

Our expertise also extends to Higher Education, where we have delivered a wealth of projects. We are currently working on the new Peebles Community Campus in Scotland, a state-of-the-art facility designed to be a focal point for the town. Our design for Peebles is inspired by the local landscape and aims to foster a stronger connection to nature. Other projects include our work on High School for New South West, Great Park Academy and Benton Park Academy, where we are helping to create greener, healthier learning environments.

We also have a proven track record on university campuses, including our work on the University of Salford's Health and Society Campus, where we are helping to create a modern, green space that supports student life and well-being.
