OOBE connects in Edinburgh

Last Friday was a special day for the OOBE team as our offices from Newcastle, Edinburgh, and Glasgow came together for a team day in the vibrant city of Edinburgh. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, reflect on our hard work, and celebrate our shared achievements.

OOBE at The McEwan in Fountainbridge, Edinburgh.

Our day began with an inspiring guided tour of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Our tour guide walked us through the SuDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) basins and even pointed out specific planting that OOBE uses across our sites. Surrounded by stunning landscapes and diverse plant life, it was a brilliant opportunity to appreciate the intricate design and natural beauty that is at the core of our work. This provided a perfect backdrop for us to reflect on our own landscape architecture projects and the passion we bring to every design.

Next, we made our way from Stockbridge to the MODA McEwan Build to Rent (BTR) site in Fountainbridge. Our Directors, Emma McNicholas and Mike Goodall, led a tour of the site's landscape architecture. It was incredibly rewarding to walk through a project we've worked on as a team, seeing our collective hard work come to life in a tangible way.

The team day was more than just a tour; it was a chance to step back, appreciate the progress we've made, and look forward to what's next. As our company continues to grow, these moments of connection are vital. It was a day to celebrate our shared success, strengthen our bonds as a team, and get excited about the future.

We asked our Managing Director, Oliver Smith, for his thoughts on the day:

“It was fantastic to see the whole team together. With the company growing, it’s really important that we create opportunities for everyone to connect and collaborate. Days like this allow us to step away from the day-to-day work, celebrate our achievements, and get inspired for what's to come. We have a lot to be proud of and an even more exciting future ahead.”

Thank you to everyone who made the day so memorable. Here's to more days of collaboration, reflection, and growth!
