OOBE returns to MIPIM in 2026
As the global real estate community gathers in Cannes for MIPIM 2026, OOBE is proud to announce our attendance as a Founding Partner of the Scotland at MIPIM initiative. With Directors Chris Shiels and Emma McNicholas on the ground, we are heading to the Palais des Festivals with a dual mission: to fly the flag for a unified Scotland and to showcase our transformative landscape architecture across the wider UK.
Stronger Together: The Scottish Mission
Chris Shiels will be based at the Scotland stand within the UK Hub. "We believe Scotland is stronger when we speak with one voice," says Chris. "Our goal is to show how landscape-led design overcomes perceived challenges and creates the high-quality environments that international capital is looking for."
A National Perspective
Meanwhile, Emma McNicholas will highlight OOBE’s expanding footprint in the UK. "Landscape architecture is the heartbeat of successful urban renewal," Emma explains. "From Newcastle Helix to New Garden Square in Birmingham, we are setting new standards for urban living."

For us as a practice, it’s also about building relationships — sharing what’s working elsewhere, learning from others, and helping shape the kind of sustainable, well-designed places Scotland deserves. Joining Scotland at MIPIM is about being part of something bigger — a collective effort to showcase Scotland’s ambition for sustainable, design-led growth. As a practice, we’re passionate about creating places that put landscape, people and quality of life at the heart of development.
MIPIM gives us the chance to share that approach on an international stage — to show how good design and strong collaboration can drive regeneration and attract meaningful investment into Scotland’s towns and cities.
