Scotland at MIPIM

OOBE is one of the Founding Sponsors of Scotland at MIPIM in 2026.

“We are thrilled to be a founding partner of the new Scotland delegation at MIPIM in 2026,” says Emma McNicholas, Director at OOBE. "Having attended over the last few years, OOBE has experienced the exciting opportunities MIPIM creates and the immense platform that Place North delivers."

"This partnership is a brilliant chance for OOBE to champion the importance of landscape architecture in attracting investment and shaping Scotland’s future. We’re excited to showcase our outstanding experience and contribute to a successful year for the delegation.”

For OOBE, it’s really about making sure Scotland is part of the conversation. We’ve seen, through our landscape architecture work across the UK — in places like Manchester, Birmingham and the North East — how much positivity and momentum events like MIPIM can generate. They create the connections that turn big ideas into real projects.

Chris Shield, Director said “Scotland has so much talent and ambition, but we can’t afford to sit on the sidelines. Scotland at MIPIM gives us a platform to showcase what we do best — our design quality, our innovation, and our collaborative spirit. It’s a chance to show investors and partners that Scotland is open, confident, and ready to grow.”

For us as a practice, it’s also about building relationships — sharing what’s working elsewhere, learning from others, and helping shape the kind of sustainable, well-designed places Scotland deserves.

Joining Scotland at MIPIM is about being part of something bigger — a collective effort to showcase Scotland’s ambition for sustainable, design-led growth. As a practice, we’re passionate about creating places that put landscape, people and quality of life at the heart of development.

MIPIM gives us the chance to share that approach on an international stage — to show how good design and strong collaboration can drive regeneration and attract meaningful investment into Scotland’s towns and cities.

It’s also a brilliant opportunity to connect with others — to build partnerships, exchange ideas, and learn from what’s happening elsewhere in the world. Being part of this national platform helps us play our part in shaping a confident, creative and sustainable future for Scotland.

Attending MIPIM has really reinforced for us just how powerful collaboration can be. The most successful regions are the ones where public and private sectors come together with a shared ambition — and that’s exactly the approach Scotland is taking.

We’ve gained valuable insight into the global trends shaping investment, sustainability and regeneration, and we’ve seen how much appetite there is for design approaches that balance commercial success with social and environmental value.

MIPIM also reminds us of the importance of strong storytelling — presenting Scotland with confidence, clarity and a shared vision. It’s not about promoting individual businesses; it’s about showing what we can achieve together.

Ultimately, we’ve come away with new connections, new ideas, and an even stronger belief that landscape-led design has a vital role to play in creating resilient, thriving communities across Scotland.

We've seen increased interest in joining Scotland at MIPIM. There is still plenty of opportunity for more companies, public and private organisations, individuals and stakeholders to join us.
